PROTECT YOUR ATHLETES WITH PROPER CONCUSSION MANAGEMENT!
Compete Sports Performance & Rehab utilizes the Sport Concussion Assessment Tool (SCAT) testing applications that are supported by the NFL, NBA, NHL, and many other professional sports organizations!
Traumatic Brain Injuries affect all sports! According to the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, there were an estimated of 446,788 sports-related head injuries treated at U.S. hospital emergency rooms in 2009 with an increase of 95,000 from the previous year! Compete is addressing this growing concerns of concussions within the community by providing an effective means to manage concussions through objective testing and priority referrals to Physicians with expertise in dealing with sports related concussions.
Compete Sports Performance & Rehab provides concussion testing services, including baseline and follow up testing utilizing the SCAT3 application with Physician services provided by our quality network of Physicians who frequently treat sports related concussions. High School and Club Team Organizations that participate in our Concussion Management program will be eligible for a discounted rate.
HOW THE CONCUSSION MANAGEMENT PROGRAM WORKS:
All baseline concussion tests will be administered by a Certified Athletic Trainer from Compete Sports Performance & Rehab. Baseline results will be securely stored with Compete and emailed to a parent. In the event an athlete sustains a possible concussion, an immediate referral to a Physician who specializes in sports related concussions will be made and the athlete will undergo a follow up concussion test.. All tests results will be emailed to the physician immediately. Return to play guidelines will be set or recommended by the Physician. Compete may administer or be consulted on the return to play guidelines for athletes suffering from a concussion.
About SCAT2 (Sport Concussion Assessment Tool 2)
This application tool is a standardized method of evaluating injured athletes for concussions. It is supported by the IIHF, FIFA, and The Olympics. The SCAT2 application examines the physical symptoms of concussions (level of consciousness, balance, motor control) and also includes cognitive assessment as well as a balance component.
Cost: Cost for individual testing is $20 per exam. Team rates (10 or more athletes) are $10 per exam.
Athletes will be treated by a Sports Concussion Team utilizing phone communication with Compete, and the school ATC/personnel, and communication with school counselors, teachers, and nurses as needed.
We believe every athlete deserves proper sports injury care; especially as it pertains to the prevention and treatment of concussions. Compete Sports Performance & Rehab and our dedicated Physicians are committed to building and sustaining a healthy athletic community.

He has rehabed back to full-go so many of my surgical and non-surgical patients for years that I can't keep count. He is an expert in getting people back to sports at a level even better than they were before their injury. He is extremely knowledgeable, a patient advocate and is focused on getting patients back to their best possible physical condition. I highly suggest you consider letting Chris take care of you for any orthopedic issue."
