Indiana State midfielder Addyson Warner was named the Missouri Valley Conference Freshman of the Week following her performances against Purdue and St. Mary-of-the-Woods.

Warner scored two first-half goals in the Sycamores’ 13-0 win over St. Mary-of-the-Woods College on Sunday evening to highlight her week as the freshman made her Indiana State debut on the pitch over collegiate soccer’s opening week.

The Dana Point, Calif. native entered the match in the 21st minute of play and quickly made her mark, scoring her first collegiate goal at 28:03 on the clock with a goal off the assist from Ashlyn Cohen. She followed four minutes later with her second goal of the game at 32:11 to make it a 5-0 Indiana State lead over the Pomeroys. Warner finished the match with two goals on three shot attempts in 25 minutes of play.

The freshman midfielder made her collegiate debut on Thursday evening at Purdue as she was able to get off one of Indiana State’s four shots in the match, with her second-half attempt from near midfield going just wide of the goal.
